The work Gathering of Ten Fragrances is on display to tie in with the exhibition "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time — In Search of Chinese Art of Scent", inviting the audience to gather snippets of the city’s culture and explore local scents.

Cheuk Ka-wai, Cherie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with first class honours in 2012 and a Master of Fine Arts in 2017 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is an accomplished painter of the Song gongbi style, known for her meticulous brush strokes and nuanced colours. Her works revolve around nature, history and culture, often blending classic brushwork and contemporary whimsy to portray humanist sentiments. Cheuk has participated in various art exchange programmes and exhibitions in Beijing, Hangzhou and South Korea, among other places. In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition in Taipei, called “The Flow of Time”. In 2022, she was commissioned by Art Basel Hong Kong for its Artist Tram Project and received the Liu Kuo-sung Ink Art Award. Her pieces have also been showcased at ink art exhibitions such as “Asian Art in London – Beyond Tradition: The Metamorphosis of Chinese Art” (2023), “Pi Daojian + Yan Yong: Being and Inking: Documenting Contemporary Ink Art 2001-2016” (2016), and “New Ink: An Exhibition of Ink Art by Post 1970 Artists from the Yiqingzhai Collection” (2013) at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery. Her works have been acquired by the Hong Kong Museum of Art as well as private collectors in Asia and beyond.
