Central PMQ Gallery tete|Beautiful Objects - TAIGA OKU Glassworks
Description
At Gallery Tete, we are pleased to announce the solo exhibition "Beautiful Objects - Glass Works by Oku Taiga," featuring the renowned Japanese craft artist Oku Taiga, on 16 November (Sat). Born in 1986, Oku Taiga san creates his works in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, located near the Seto Inland Sea, famously known as the Town of Stones. His creations utilize melted glass and the technique of glassblowing to produce functional vessels, infusing his sensitivity into transparent lines, resulting in beautiful artworks. This exhibition will showcase classic series such as "Standard" and the more recent "Diamond" series, along with various shapes of vases and other diverse works. Through the transparent contours of these pieces, we aim to express the character of "Beautiful Objects" that exists between the everyday and the extraordinary. We hope you will feel the uniqueness of his creative process and the special qualities in our daily lives, allowing us to collectively experience this beauty.
