HK$169.78 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$25.92 billion, or 15.27% of the
market's turnover. There were 791 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.56 billion and HK$1.29
billion, or 6.01% and 4.99% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 31.2% and 15% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.24 billion and HK$1.11 billion
of short sales, accounting for 4.79% and 4.29% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.58% and 16.17% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.3, or 0.33%, to HK$91.52. BABA-W ended up HK$1.1, or 0.76%, to
HK$146.4. TENCENT rose HK$0.5, or 0.08% to HK$614.5. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.1, or 0.39%,
to HK$26.
