[ET Net News Agency, 22 December 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$95.59 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$12.24 billion, or 12.8% of the
market's turnover. There were 753 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$799.77 million and HK$743.85
million, or 6.53% and 6.08% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 19.83% and 16.32% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$663.25 million and HK$642.48 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.42% and 5.25% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.62% and 13.1% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.08, or 0.31%, to HK$25.98. TENCENT ended down HK$0.5, or
0.08%, to HK$613.5. HSCEI ETF rose HK$0.3, or 0.33% to HK$91.52. BABA-W jumped HK$1.2, or
0.83%, to HK$146.5.
