[ET Net News Agency, 17 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$67.45 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.6 billion, or 17.19% of the
market's turnover. There were 610 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.32 billion and HK$1.12
billion, or 11.39% and 9.64% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 31.42% and 32.22% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$855.36 million and HK$783.59 million
of short sales, accounting for 7.38% and 6.76% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.65% and 36.73% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.02, or 0.1%, to HK$19.77. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.08, or
0.11%, to HK$72.64. SMIC rose HK$3.8, or 10.56% to HK$39.8. CSOP HS TECH jumped HK$0.052,
or 1.2%, to HK$4.382.
