[ET Net News Agency, 18 December 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$55.65 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$7.16 billion, or 12.86% of the
market's turnover. There were 633 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$455.82 million and HK$371.21
million, or 6.37% and 5.19% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 25.16% and 11.87% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$364.65 million and HK$313.2 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.09% and 4.38% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 21.93% and 24.2% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.06, or 0.3%, to HK$19.96. TENCENT ended up HK$2, or 0.5%, to
HK$404.6. MEITUAN-W rose HK$1.5, or 0.95% to HK$160.1. XIAOMI-W jumped HK$0.65, or 2.17%,
to HK$30.6.
