HK$216.82 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$38.5 billion, or 17.75% of the
market's turnover. There were 698 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$10.93 billion and HK$2.05
billion, or 28.4% and 5.33% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 50.65% and 27.66% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$1.54 billion and HK$1.47 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.01% and 3.81% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 18.3% and 20.5% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.48, or 2.27%, to HK$20.64. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$2, or
2.6%, to HK$75.06. BABA-W fell HK$4, or 4.07% to HK$94.4. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$4.5, or
2.32%, to HK$189.3.
