There were 820 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.23 billion and HK$1.54 billion, or 13.13% and 9.06% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 15.19% and 29.76% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$887.5 million and HK$780.2 million of short sales, accounting for 5.22% and 4.59% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 13.57% and 7.27% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$7.9, or 6.75%, to HK$124.9. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$1.06, or 3.68%, to HK$27.72. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.042, or 0.89% to HK$4.772. TENCENT jumped HK$14.2, or 2.99%, to HK$489.4.
