There were 773 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.74 billion and HK$1.26 billion, or 12.63% and 5.81% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 39.35% and 42.16% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$994.29 million and HK$813.21 million of short sales, accounting for 4.59% and 3.75% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 14.75% and 14.24% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.04, or 0.15%, to HK$26.16. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.08, or 0.09%, to HK$89.46. SMIC rose HK$5.15, or 8.81% to HK$63.6. TENCENT declined by HK$2, or 0.4%, to HK$493.2.
